JOB TITLE: Sales Representative-Point of Purchase/Front End Merchandising

SUMMARY:  Under the supervision of the Vice President of Point of Purchase (POP) and Front End Merchandising (FEM) Sales, this position is responsible for developing selling opportunities and closing sales on business related to Cannon Equipment products, services and capabilities.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Meets or exceeds company sales objectives and develop a profitable sales/business base for the company.

Secures all pertinent purchase orders and contracts necessary to consummate a sale and deliver products or services.

Provides thorough, concise and complete background information on all client assignments.

Manages client programs and projects with an objective to surpass client expectations and requirements. 

Provides input as appropriate regarding market, business, client, company and/or personal needs in order to assist the company in maintaining its leadership position.

Identifies and maintains knowledge of key contacts within the account and establish multi-level relationships with key personnel in the account via continuous face-to-face contact.

Develops and qualifies customer requirements on current and new projects.

Prepares special reports as requested by client; prepares standard company reports, e.g., annual business plan, forecasts, sold order notifications and program enhancement reports.

Develops a thorough knowledge of Cannon Equipment products, services, and capabilities.

Effectively communicates Cannon Equipment capabilities to potential customers.

Identifies business opportunities which are compatible with Cannon Equipment capabilities.

Maintains ongoing contacts with clients and potential clients in person, by phone, mail, voice mail, and e-mail as appropriate.

Maintain consistent, detailed, ongoing communications with Cannon Equipment personnel related to the conducting of business and client needs.

Attends industry trade shows and training sessions.

Maintains and expands personal knowledge base through periodicals, trade publications and business seminars.

Maintains appropriate account records as required by sales management and submit reports regarding conditions and progresses achieved in the account.

Establishes, monitors and communicates pre-sale efforts, including budgets, presentation materials, artwork, design, production, first production samples, prototype production and review, fulfillment and shipping, if applicable.

Maintains an awareness of all competitive activities including product performance, pricing, availability and related information.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Requires a bachelor’s degree in business or related field and 4 to 7 years of progressively responsible related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:  Requires a valid driver’s license.
