Cannon Equipment, a division of IMI headquartered in the suburban Minneapolis/St. Paul area, has this job opening. This position is responsible for machine design, cost estimating, creating and maintaining engineering documentation, meeting safety standards and general technical support for other departments. The successful candidate will be detail orientated, have excellent mechanical aptitude, a good understanding of machine design, motion control, hydraulics, pneumatics, metal fabrication and finishing; ability to create and develop designs from concept sketches or verbal instruction. Also excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal and organizational skills, strong PC skills, solid analytical and problem solving skills, a positive and professional image and ability to work with all levels of employees and management and the ability to work under periodic pressure with self-control to meet multiple commitments, schedules and deadlines and the ability to work with interruptions are necessary. Qualifications preferred for this position are: AutoCAD and Inventor knowledge, BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and 1-5 years of product design experience. May also consider candidates with Associates Degree in related field and 3-5 years of product design experience.
