Cannon Equipment is a subsidiary of IMI plc a dynamic UK based engineering solutions provider to a global customer base. Our approach to Corporate and Social Responsibility is governed by IMI plc, our leadership team is bound by IMI’s standards and has formally acknowledged these as recognized behaviors and measures for our business.

We take our responsibilities to the environment and the communities in which we operate very seriously. These are often referred to as Corporate Social Responsibility or CSR. We believe that these responsibilities can impact positively on profitability, returns to shareholders, reputation and growth. High standards of responsibility are, in our view, compatible with growth and business efficiency. We put particular emphasis on ensuring that our management of social, environmental and economic issues is aligned and integrated with the overall management of the business and we call this 'responsible business'.

IMI has been selected as a member of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index having demonstrated a high level of responsible business practice across a wide range of demanding criteria. Membership of the index places IMI amongst the top 20% of all major industrial/engineering companies across the globe. In 2009, IMI plc was again included in the FTSE4Good Index and, following our sign-up to the United Nations Global Compact in 2006, we completed our communication on progress in June 2008.
